Twitter launches bug bounty contest to detect algorithmic bias, $3,500 prize to winner

Twitter has launched a bug bounty contest to discover algorithm bias. Twitter will reward you for discovering previously undetected biases in the image cropping algorithm. Since April, Twitter has been trying to make the image cropping algorithm even more powerful.

Twitter has been using this algorithm since 2018. This algorithm looks at what the fun aspects of the image preview are. This algorithm was also criticized by people as giving preference to only white characters. To solve such problems, Twitter has released its code.

This is the company’s first algorithm bias bug bounty competition. Twitter said it will award the winner $3,500. The company has said that it has brought such a competition because it cannot solve such a problem alone. The winner of this competition will be announced on August 8 at the DefCon AI Village workshop hosted by Twitter.
