770 million dollars stolen in one year using social media

In 2021, hackers have stolen at least 770 million US dollars using social media.

According to a report released by the FTC, more than 95,000 users have been robbed of 770 million US dollars. In 2020, hackers managed to steal only 258 million US dollars.

The report said that the number of scammers has increased significantly in the last five years. Romance scams have also increased significantly in recent years.

This kind of scam is mostly conducted by people who don’t know each other by sending friend requests and start talking properly and then asking for money.

It has been found that there are many scams in online shopping. It has been found in many places that goods are not delivered and only money is taken. In the report, only the names of Facebook and Instagram have been mentioned among social networks.

It has been found that most of the romance scams and online shopping scams are done through Facebook and Instagram.
