Air India’s data breach has put the data of 4.5 million passengers at risk. The data of 4.5 million passengers registered in the system from August 2011 to February 2021 has been breached.
The bricked data contained information such as name, contact information, and ticket information.
The hackers also had credit card information but could not get the information due to CVC or CVV.
The data breach was first reported by Air India on February 25 and a case was registered for its investigation on March 19.
Only on March 25 and May 4 did the company find out which passenger’s data had been stolen. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
According to the report of Blipping Computer, not only the passengers of Air India but also the passengers of many other flights have also fallen victim to this hack.
Passengers from Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Jeju Air, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, SAS and Singapore Airlines have also been affected by the data breach.
