Can Infotech, Startup and Innovation a priority

CAN Infotech organized by Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation has started from Wednesday. Can Infotech started on Wednesday and will continue till Monday.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki inaugurated CAN Infotech at a function held at the National Assembly on Wednesday morning.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Karki, who was also the chief guest, said that the government was ready to cooperate with the private sector for the development of information technology. He also said that the quality of service should be improved.

Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr. Vishwa Poudel, Vice Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology Sunil Babu Shrestha, President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Shekhar Golchha, President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajendra Malla, President of Nepal Telecommunication Authority Purushottam Khanal, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Anil Dutt, Department of Information Technology Director General Prem Sharan Shrestha, Managing Director of IME Group Hemraj Dhakal and others were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Nast Vice Chancellor Shrestha informed that Nast is working on building the ecosystem of innovation.

Shrestha said that Nast is working on startup desk and patent registration in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry. He said that e-waste should be managed. “Electronic waste should be recycled,” said Shrestha. We have to work together for that. ‘

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chairman of the National Planning Commission Poudel said that work should be done to reduce the cost by using information technology.

Chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajendra Malle also spoke on the occasion. Malla said that work should be done by creating an IT hub. He said that this would motivate the manpower to stay in the country and also bring in foreign currency.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Telecommunication Authority of Nepal Khanal said that electronic waste would affect human health and the environment, adding that the authority had made little effort in its management.

Similarly, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Shekhar Golchha said that technology has provided relief to the corona epidemic. “The more we assimilate technology, the easier our lives will be,” he said.

He said that as the use of technology has increased, it has created inequality and work needs to be done to reduce it. He said that technology has not only made life easier but also reduced industrial costs. He also mentioned the need for a startup policy.

Can Infotok has 170 stalls, from which you can get information about goods and services of various organizations as well as purchase goods. Various companies have even come up with offers aimed at those who visit Infotech.

This time, the organizers have given priority to startup and innovation in Infotech. According to the organizers, stalls have been set up giving importance to branding.
