Ukrainian police on Monday arrested a 25-year-old man who hacked more than 100 foreign companies and caused more than 150 million in losses.
The unidentified hackers used phishing attacks and hijacked software to allow remote access to computers, the police statement said. The victims included “world-renowned energy and tourism companies.”
The hacker was arrested with the help of law enforcement officials from the United States, France, Europol and Interpol. Police raided the house of the accused and his relatives.
