South Korean One Store partnering with Microsoft for global expansion

South Korean app market operator One Store has partnered with Microsoft to develop the global app market by next year.

The company said in an official statement on Monday that it aims to strengthen its presence against major competitors run by global technology giants.

The app is available on the Market Android mobile operating system, which is known in South Korea as an alternative to Google’s Playstore.

The company plans to build a global platform by next year by integrating with Microsoft’s cloud technology, according to local Yonhap news agency.

At an online press conference, Jin Hyun-kule, head of strategic partnership at One Store, said the company plans to launch the platform in Asian markets.

The decision comes after Microsoft invested 9.5 million in the One Store last June.

The 47-stake main wireless carrier in the market is SK Telecom, along with Katie Corp and LG Uplus Corp.
